What is the difference between Path and DOMXPath in object cloning?

what is the difference between Path and DOMXPath in object cloning in automation anywhere

  • @Himabindu Path is something created by Automation anywhere Software - It may vary from Environment to Environment, whereas DOMXPath is the Id of Element you cloned in a webpage/application. I would recommend you to use DOMXPath as it will be same for all the Environments almost all the times and you can also use * (Wildcard) If you find any dynamic values in Object Properties.

  • @kothapradeepreddy Thanks for the explanation !

    I have two questions.

    1. When you say "It may vary from Environment to Environment, " does it mean path changes between PROD environment and TEST environment? Can you please provide an example?
    2. Can you please elaborate with an example on how "Path is something created by Automation anywhere Software "?

    Thanks in advance !
